As checked October 9, 2026, Wegovy’s manufacturer self-pay prices are $149–$299 per 30-tablet bottle, $349 per four-pen box for most injection strengths, or $399 for the 7.2 mg HD pen. Eligible new offer participants can get each of two introductory 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg pen fills for $199 through December 31, 2026; separately charged appointments or memberships are not included in these medication prices. NovoCare’s pricing page supplies the amounts and conditions below.

Wegovy cash prices: pill and pen

The strength labels identify priced products, not a recommended prescription or sequence.

Wegovy product Manufacturer self-pay price Package
Tablets, 1.5 mg $149 30 tablets
Tablets, 4 mg $199 30 tablets
Tablets, 9 or 25 mg $299 30 tablets
Pens, 0.25 or 0.5 mg: eligible introductory offer $199 per fill, first two fills Four pens
Pens, 0.25, 0.5, 1, 1.7 or 2.4 mg: standard offer $349 Four pens
HD pens, 7.2 mg $399 Four pens

The introductory pen offer is for people new to the Wegovy savings offer or NovoCare Pharmacy and runs through December 31, 2026. Novo may change its programs; eligibility restrictions apply. Check the manufacturer terms linked beside its prices before purchasing.

Why a starting price is not your ongoing budget

The useful number is the price of the product actually prescribed, at the pharmacy you will use, after any introductory discount ends. A search result or advertisement can accurately say “from $149” while describing only one tablet strength. A pen advertisement can accurately say $199 while describing two qualifying fills rather than a permanent price.

Write down two separate figures: the amount required now and the expected next-fill amount. Then ask what would change either figure. That question is more useful than asking whether a program is simply “cheap.” An offer that saves money initially might still cost more overall if it requires a separate membership, and a higher pharmacy price might come with no recurring platform charge. Neither situation can be resolved from the medication headline alone.

Do not assume the lowest listed product is the one you will receive. A clinician determines the prescription; this table is a billing reference. It is also not a comparison of the medical effects of pills and injections. For the broader provider landscape, our semaglutide guide and weight-care directory provide links to services and their profiles.

Estimating the first 12 weeks

Twelve weeks is 84 days. When a quote uses the word “month,” ask for the actual package quantity and days supplied rather than automatically equating it with a calendar month. Three 30-day supplies, for example, represent 90 days, not exactly 12 weeks. Keep the comparison period visible when evaluating a provider’s advertised monthly equivalent.

A conditional illustration is two qualifying $199 pen packages followed by a $349 package: $199 + $199 + $349 = $747 in medication payments. This is arithmetic based on the listed offers, not a treatment plan, an instruction to change strength or a promise that a particular person qualifies. The pharmacy must confirm the price of each actual fill.

Your first-period worksheet should also include all required payments that fall within that period. If a service bills in advance for a longer commitment, record the full amount due, not merely the portion you would allocate to 12 weeks. Keep any unused prepaid balance separate from money already spent. A lower monthly equivalent does not make a larger upfront payment disappear.

What belongs in an all-in Wegovy quote?

Ask the seller to separate the medication bill from the care-service bill. The following are questions to resolve, not claims that every program charges these fees:

  • Is the appointment included, or billed separately before any prescription decision?
  • Is there a mandatory monthly membership, and what does it cover?
  • Are laboratory tests separately billed if required by the care team?
  • Is shipping included for this pharmacy and destination?
  • Are taxes, supplies or other mandatory charges added at checkout?
  • Does the advertised price require prepayment, automatic renewal or a minimum term?

Use “not confirmed” for an unanswered item. Treating every missing fee as zero makes an incomplete offer look artificially inexpensive. Conversely, do not add a speculative charge as though it were a verified fee. The goal is to distinguish known costs, conditional costs and unresolved questions.

Request an itemized quote you can keep. An email or account message identifying the product, offer and required services is easier to compare than a screenshot containing only a starting price. Make sure the quote also identifies who collects each payment: the care platform, prescribing practice, pharmacy or another service.

Cash prices and the separate $25 insurance offer

Novo describes the $25 headline as a separate commercial-insurance savings offer, with savings capped at $100 per month and government beneficiaries excluded. Its cash purchases do not count toward insurance deductibles or out-of-pocket limits. These distinctions appear on the Wegovy pricing page.

For budgeting, compare the pharmacy’s confirmed cash charge with your plan’s confirmed insured charge. Do not subtract the advertised commercial discount from the cash price unless the applicable terms explicitly allow it. Ask the pharmacy which payment route it has quoted. An insurance card on file does not by itself tell you whether a transaction is being processed through insurance.

How to compare Wegovy with a compounded offer

Keep branded Wegovy and compounded semaglutide in separate rows. FDA says compounded medicines are not FDA-approved and do not receive its premarket review; a low price does not establish interchangeability. FDA’s explanation of compounding describes that regulatory distinction.

Our compounded semaglutide price comparison is useful for understanding required payments, commitments and ongoing charges in those offers. It is not a Wegovy price list or a recommendation to substitute one product for another. Compare clearly labeled products and complete bills, leaving prescribing questions with the care team.

For a concrete separate-category example, our October 6 comparison records Gentle Health at $135 monthly for its starting injectable semaglutide tier and Mochi Health at $139 for its representative starting-dose example, including the standard $79 membership. Gentle’s current pricing and terms require two monthly payments; Mochi’s exact medication price depends on the account, state and pharmacy, and its FAQ and terms differ on possible tax or shipping charges. Neither figure is a Wegovy quote or a dose-equivalence comparison.

Before paying, confirm the exact Wegovy package, current pharmacy offer, next-fill price and every mandatory service charge. That four-part check turns a promotional headline into a usable budget without pretending that one advertised amount applies to everyone.
