One entry on the table, not the whole platform

FOLX marks the District of Columbia available for its combined primary and mental health care service in its state-by-service table. That single entry is what supports this listing. The table lists the company’s other services separately, and this row does not speak for them.

The offering itself is adult primary care: choosing a clinician for a scheduled virtual visit, with care-team contact handled through the FOLX account platform. Check the assigned clinician’s professional credential rather than assuming every visit is with a physician, and treat the platform’s stated specialty as a description of its focus rather than an individual credential.

Understand what membership buys

Full membership is $43.99 monthly or $349 paid annually. FOLX establishes platform access only by exclusion: it says the limited-access route does not include online appointment booking or care-team access through a FOLX account. Visits, laboratory work and medication are separate charges.

The cash price list puts a 30-minute initial primary-care visit at $159 and a 15-minute follow-up at $79. A limited-access route is arranged through Member Operations without the platform benefits, and the reviewed page does not publish a separate complete price schedule for it. Ask for that quote before comparing the two routes.

Insurance and the public programs

Match your exact plan and service to FOLX’s insurance guidance; participation varies by plan and by service.

Under the Medicaid and Medicare FAQ, FOLX does not accept either program to pay for its own services and is not a Medicare provider. The same FAQ says a Medicare-enrolled person may still receive care by agreeing that neither they nor FOLX will bill Medicare for it.

The FOLX profile explains the company and the national primary-care overview covers other purchasing models. A District entry does not establish a nearby office, an assigned clinician or a particular prescription.

Selected providers

Which providers serve the District of Columbia?

2 companies with published profiles and service-specific source records. Listed alphabetically, not ranked. This is selected coverage—not every provider in the market.

Formats describe the program, not a guaranteed first-visit option in every state. A messaging or questionnaire option does not promise an initial evaluation without a live appointment. Read each provider’s service and state access notes.

A standard primary-care or wellness video visit is $120 self-pay; the equivalent in-person annual wellness or standard appointment is $200. There is no membership or annual fee. The company reports that insured patients paid an average of $35 per appointment over the prior six months, which is a company-reported average and not a guaranteed price. A $50 fee applies to appointments cancelled less than 24 hours ahead and to no-shows.

Circle Medical's video list includes the District of Columbia, which the page groups with thirty-one states under a heading that calls all thirty-two states. The service itself is virtual-first adult primary and preventive care booked in the app as a scheduled video visit: $120 for a standard self-pay appointment, no membership fee, and a company-reported $35 average for insured patients. Medicaid is not accepted, Medicare only in a subset of states and subject to plan, and cancelling late or not appearing costs $50.

Circle Medical's online-doctors page says "See a Circle Medical provider over video in any of the following states" and links thirty-two jurisdictions: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin. The page calls that list thirty-two states; it is thirty-one states and the District of Columbia. This covers Circle Medical's online primary care only. Circle Medical advertises other services but publishes no service-by-state list in this source, so nothing beyond primary care follows from it. Being able to see a provider over video in one of these places does not establish an office there, an available appointment, insurance participation, or that any particular treatment or prescription is offered.

The practice does not see patients under 18, and a clinician must be licensed where the patient is physically located. Both the practice and the individual clinician need to be in network, Medicare is accepted only in a subset of states and subject to plan, and Medicaid or Medi-Cal eligibility currently rules out care. Listed in-person locations are appointment-only for established patients, not walk-in clinics. Company-reported.

FOLX Health

FOLX adult primary-care visits, with full-platform membership or a separately arranged limited-access booking route.

The primary-care page describes choosing a clinician for a scheduled virtual visit and messaging the care team through full membership. Check the assigned clinician's professional credential rather than assuming every visit is with a physician.

The cash list puts a 30-minute initial primary-care visit at $159 and a 15-minute follow-up at $79. Full membership is separate: $43.99 monthly or $349 paid annually. Visits, labs and medication are not included in that membership fee. The limited-access route omits full-platform benefits; the reviewed page does not give a separate complete price schedule for it.

FOLX marks its combined primary and mental health care service available for the District of Columbia in its own state-by-service table. That entry covers adult primary-care visits and does not speak for the other FOLX services listed in separate columns.

The company state table lists its combined primary and mental health care service as available here. Read from the company own state-by-service table rather than a nationwide statement. It does not establish patient eligibility, clinician availability, insurance coverage, or that any particular medication is offered.

State evidence checked · State availability source

The service is presented for adults and designed around LGBTQIA+ care. Its state table separately lists primary/mental health care in all 50 states and DC; that is not a guarantee for other FOLX services or a particular prescription. Insurance participation varies by plan and service. FOLX says it does not accept Medicare or Medicaid to pay for its own services and is not a Medicare provider, but its Medicare/Medicaid FAQ states that a Medicare-enrolled person may still receive care if they agree that neither they nor FOLX will bill Medicare for it. The same FAQ says a person on Medicaid in Kentucky or Colorado cannot receive clinical services through FOLX, though they may still join for the referral network and community platform; that is the company's policy tied to Medicaid enrollment, not a state law and not a withdrawal from either state.

How companies enter this list

Each selected company has a published profile, a maintained service row and a separately reviewed match to current evidence for this state. A general national footprint is insufficient. The list is selective; an omitted provider is not necessarily unavailable. Inclusion does not establish clinical suitability, state licensure or a currently available appointment.

Smaller and larger providers use the same source requirements and alphabetical ordering. Visit each profile for company history and wider context, or suggest another provider.
