Allara Health provides virtual women’s specialty services through medical clinicians and registered dietitians. Its catalog covers hormonal, metabolic and gynecological concerns, including PCOS, menopause, fertility and weight-related services. It is not simply a prescription subscription or a standalone supplement store.
History and ownership
Allara’s company retrospective dates its public launch to 2021, initially focused on PCOS. Its current About page identifies Rachel Blank as founder and CEO. Launch timing is not necessarily the date the legal entity was formed.
On January 24, 2025, the company announced a $26 million Series B led by Index Ventures, with GV participating. The release said Index partner Martin Mignot would join the board. It did not disclose majority ownership or a complete investor table.
The terms identify the digital-services operator as Astrid Health, Inc., doing business as Allara. They distinguish that company from independent practitioners, including Allara Medical Group, P.A., providing clinical consultations.
Services and geographical limits
The FAQ describes scheduled video visits with a medical clinician and a registered dietitian, supported by patient-success staff. The telehealth consent also describes asynchronous messaging. Laboratory testing can take place outside the virtual appointment.
The FAQ lists complete medical and nutrition care in 45 states and Washington, D.C. It lists nutrition-only membership in Hawaii, Kansas, New Mexico, Rhode Island and South Carolina. Those five states should not be counted as offering the complete medical program.
The platform’s privacy policy restricts its digital services to adults. Individual clinician availability, the requested service and insurance acceptance remain separate checks.
Prices and insurance
The current self-pay guide, updated June 3, 2026, lists:

Allara’s public pages do not describe testing charges consistently. The self-pay help guide says labs, imaging, prescriptions and supplements are billed separately. The main pricing page, however, lists testing, including panels or imaging as needed, among Complete Care features. It does not clearly reconcile that wording with the help guide. Obtain a written estimate for ordered tests; neither included testing nor an all-inclusive total can be assumed from the membership price alone.
The insured-membership guide explicitly says that in-network patients do not pay a membership fee. This should not be replaced with older descriptions of a membership charged to every patient.
Allara’s insurance list excludes HMO plans, Affordable Care Act marketplace plans, Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare and Kaiser. The same insurer’s other products may have different network arrangements; confirm the exact plan rather than relying on a logo.
Membership cancellation, appointment fees and refunds
Membership and appointment cancellations have different rules.
The membership help article says there is no cancellation fee, but requires cancellation at least 48 hours before the next billing date to avoid the upcoming month’s charge. The telehealth consent separately describes an initial one-month non-cancellable subscription period. “No long-term commitment” should therefore not be read as a promise of an immediate first-month refund.
The appointment policy, updated August 20, 2026, lists a $50 fee for cancellations within 24 hours and a $100 no-show fee for appointments not cancelled. Ending a membership is not the same as cancelling a booked visit.
The terms allow refund requests within 30 days of a transaction, exclude third-party goods and services, and make approval dependent on the services received and program purchased. They also restrict requests after service termination or the end of a billing cycle. This is a discretionary request process, not a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Privacy and what remains to confirm
Allara’s platform policy separates its digital-services information practices from the clinical group’s privacy notice. The telehealth consent discusses recording and transcription of consultations and says patients can ask at the start of a visit for the documentation tool to be disabled. These are stated practices, not an independent security assessment.
Before enrolling, confirm whether the state offers complete care or nutrition only, whether the exact plan is accepted, the cost of outside labs and prescriptions, and how the first-month subscription obligation applies to the selected program.
