What the company does

LunaJoy is a women’s mental-health telehealth provider. It offers one-to-one virtual therapy, psychiatric medication management, and mental-health coaching to women at every life stage, with a stated focus on perinatal and postpartum conditions, infertility, birth trauma, menopause, anxiety, depression, grief, OCD, ADHD, and life transitions. The company markets itself as covered by insurance with same-day availability, and most of its public pages are built around in-network care rather than cash pay.

Alongside the consumer service, LunaJoy markets programs to organizations: an employee mental-health benefit for employers, screening and referral tools for OB-GYN and pediatric practices (LunaScreen, LunaScore, and an EMR integration it calls LunaSync), and an integrated maternal mental-health program, LunaCare, aimed at health systems and Medicaid payers.

History and ownership

The company’s April 16, 2024 release says LunaJoy was founded in 2021. That release was datelined St. Petersburg, Florida, and January 2023 coverage tied the company to the Tampa Bay area; the Y Combinator directory lists the company in the Winter 2022 batch with a founding year of 2022, a team size of six with no date or scope, and a location of Atlanta, Georgia. The company’s site states no current headquarters, so this profile records those dated locations rather than a current one, and follows the company’s own founding year while noting the difference. The site’s privacy policy says the company is governed by the states of Florida and Georgia, which describes the policy, not an office.

The founders are psychiatrists Sipra Laddha and Shama Rathi, described in January 2023 coverage as sisters-in-law who started the company after their own experiences of postpartum depression. Laddha is quoted as chief executive in 2024 trade coverage. The company closed a $2.4 million seed round announced in January 2023 and announced $4.2 million more in April 2024, which its release described as bringing the total raised to $6.6 million. January 2023 coverage also mentioned $1.9 million raised within a month of the company’s entry into Y Combinator; whether that amount is part of the seed round or separate is not stated, so it is not added to any total here. Named investors include Y Combinator, FoundersX Fund, Goodwater Capital, Magic Fund, VentureSouq, Nurture Ventures, and NorthSouth Ventures. No acquisition, revenue figure, or valuation appears in the sources checked.

The legal entity behind the website is Lunajoy Health, Inc. Its Terms and Conditions say that Lunajoy Health, Inc. contracts with Thrivinglane, LLC for the online telehealth treatment, consultations, and messaging between that entity’s clinicians and patients, and the separate telehealth informed consent says the professional medical services are provided by Thriving Lane LLC and its affiliates while the non-clinical site services are provided by LunaJoy Health, Inc. The ownership relationship between the two entities is not stated in either document.

Services and clinical model

Care is delivered in live one-to-one telehealth sessions, described by the company as virtual and by 2023 coverage as voice or video. On the services page, therapy sessions are 60 minutes, coaching sessions are 60 minutes, and medication management is a 60-minute first appointment with 30-minute follow-ups; the company says genetic testing is available to inform medication choices and that a care-navigation team is reachable around the clock. The home page advertises same-day availability.

The clinician roster showed 59 profile cards on September 7, 2026: three psychiatrists; fourteen medication-management clinicians (eleven physician assistants, two psychiatric mental-health nurse practitioners, and one advanced practice registered nurse); 39 therapists credentialed as licensed clinical social workers, mental-health counselors, or professional counselors; and three coaches. That is a tally of the page’s sections and stated credentials, not a verified workforce count. Under the Terms and Conditions and the telehealth consent, the clinicians practice through Thriving Lane LLC. Some individual bios state a license (one physician assistant’s bio says she is licensed in Florida), but the site publishes no clinician-by-state coverage list, and Inside Telehealth did not verify any license.

Availability

The company’s own pages differ on where it operates. The home-page FAQ says the company is present in Colorado, New Jersey, Virginia, Illinois, North Carolina, Alaska, Washington, DC, Georgia, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, California, and Maryland (twelve states plus DC), and that online appointments can be booked in New Jersey, California, Florida, Colorado, Georgia, and Illinois. The locations page says “We currently serve the following states” and lists Alaska, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Texas, Washington, DC, and Virginia (twelve states plus DC, not the same twelve), while its booking menu adds Colorado. The site’s footer and city pages also carry labels for Texas cities, Michigan, Arizona, and Omaha, Nebraska; those are navigation links, not service statements, and some point to pages for other places. The April 2024 release said “more than a dozen states,” and January 2023 coverage said the company was licensed in 17 states. Inside Telehealth has not tested booking in any state. Checked September 7, 2026.

Pricing and insurance

Insurance is the primary payment route. The accepted-insurances page lists insurer and program names including Aetna, Ambetter, AmeriHealth, Amerigroup, several Blue Cross Blue Shield entries, Carelon, CareSource Georgia, Cigna, Emblem Health, Fidelis Care, Geisinger Health Plan, Horizon BCBS, Humana, Tricare, Keystone First, Medicare, Medicaid, Meridian, Magellan Healthcare, Molina Healthcare, Sunshine Health, Superior Healthplan, UnitedHealthCare, Optum, Oscar Health, and Wellcare, and asks patients to confirm coverage. The list mixes brands, subsidiaries, and program labels and repeats some names, so it is not a count of distinct plans, and it does not say which product line each name refers to. The billing FAQ says the company accepts most major plans including PPOs, HMOs, Medicare, and Medicaid, will check benefits and eligibility, and takes cards, HSA and FSA funds, and payment plans for qualifying patients.

Self-pay rates on September 7, 2026 differed by page. The services page listed therapy at $150 for both the first appointment and follow-ups, while the home-page FAQ listed therapy intake at $150 and follow-ups at $125; both listed medication management at $240 for the first appointment and $150 for follow-ups; the services page alone listed coaching at $150 for the first session and $125 for follow-ups. Neither figure was tested through booking. The Terms and Conditions set a $50 no-show fee for appointments not canceled with 48 hours’ notice and a $1 per page charge for copied records, and say the patient is responsible for any amount insurance does not cover; the telehealth consent says cancellation or rescheduling within 48 business hours, or nonattendance, may incur a $100 fee. Which fee applies is not reconciled on the site.

Programs and partnerships

LunaCare, announced in April 2024, is described by the company as an integrated maternal mental-health program for outpatient practices, health systems, and payer networks that uses a proprietary risk-scoring system to route patients to care; the company tied it to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ Transforming Maternal Health Model and said it then worked with more than 15 payers. CareSource’s Summer 2024 Georgia Medicaid member newsletter introduced LunaJoy to members as a telehealth mental-health option during pregnancy and after birth, with sign-up through a LunaJoy page for CareSource members. An investor’s April 2024 post notes a March 2024 partnership with CareSource, and the LunaJoy site carries a CareSource case-management and referral page; CareSource’s own release was not reachable on September 7, 2026. The employer page markets LunaJoy to employers as an employee mental-health benefit, describes group coaching alongside therapy and medication management, and asks employers to share the service with staff; it is marketing, not evidence of a paid employer contract. Inside Telehealth found no named employer or health-system customer in the sources checked; CareSource is the only named payer.

The Terms and Conditions contain a binding arbitration agreement and a class-action waiver. A September 7, 2026 web search found no enforcement or adverse-action record from the FDA, the FTC, a state regulator, or a court naming LunaJoy, Lunajoy Health, Inc., or Thriving Lane LLC; ordinary corporate registration records exist for such entities and were not reviewed, and the search was limited, not a clearance.

Scale and operating context

No current patient, visit, or revenue total appears on the pages checked. January 2023 coverage reported more than 1,000 clients served, 17 state licenses, and a remote workforce of 15 staff and 25 clinicians; the April 2024 release reported $6.6 million raised, more than 15 payers, and more than a dozen states; the Y Combinator directory lists a team size of six with no date or scope; the company’s roster showed 59 clinician and coach cards on September 7, 2026. All of these are company-reported or dated third-party figures and are not comparable with one another.

Evidence and limitations

This record establishes the company’s identity, founders, funding, service model, in-network payment model, self-pay rates, and partnership claims from its own site, a company press release, dated trade coverage, and an investor listing, all read on September 7, 2026. It makes no clinical claims and does not evaluate the care. State availability, self-pay rates, and cancellation fees are recorded page by page as the company states them, with their inconsistencies; the clinician count is a page tally; funding totals are as the company reported them; the Thriving Lane LLC arrangement is quoted from the terms and the consent without further explanation; no current headquarters is asserted. No Internet Archive capture from the observation date was recorded for the cited pages.

Mental health: LunaJoy's locations page and its home-page FAQ each list the states it serves and the two lists do not match; this state is named on both. Therapy, mental-health coaching and psychiatric medication management are priced separately, and the FAQ names a shorter set of states where online appointments can be booked: New Jersey, California, Florida, Colorado, Georgia and Illinois. Being served does not always mean you can book one yourself. The company describes itself as in network with certain insurers rather than all of them. This is the company's own description of its reach, not a statement about which clinician you will see, their credential, your eligibility, or a local office.

Women's health: LunaJoy lists this state among those it serves. Its home page adds a narrower statement — "Online appointments can be booked in New Jersey, California, Florida, Colorado, Georgia, and Illinois" — while the booking menu on its locations page offers a wider set of states, so confirm that an appointment can actually be scheduled where you are before relying on the listing. Therapy, coaching and psychiatric medication management are sold as separate services, each with its own first-appointment and follow-up rate, and LunaJoy says it is in network with certain insurers and will check benefits. A state listing does not establish that a reader is eligible, that a clinician is available, or that every one of those services is offered here.

Company pages differ: the locations page lists twelve states plus Washington, DC (Alaska, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Texas, Virginia) with Colorado in its booking menu; the home-page FAQ lists a different twelve plus DC with online booking in six. Not tested in any state.
