What the company does

Teladoc Health combines consumer virtual visits, employer and health-plan benefits, chronic-condition programs, and technology used by hospitals and health systems. Its two reporting segments are Integrated Care and BetterHelp. The latter is the group’s separate mental-health business; a Teladoc account or advertised visit price should not be assumed to include a BetterHelp subscription or appointment.

This profile focuses on U.S. consumer access while describing the parent company’s wider business. It does not treat every employer program, acquired company, international operation or hospital product as something an individual can purchase directly.

History and ownership

The 2025 Form 10-K dates the business’s Texas incorporation to June 2002 and Delaware reincorporation to October 2008. It changed its name from Teladoc, Inc. to Teladoc Health, Inc. on August 10, 2018. The filing says its principal executive office moved from Purchase, New York, to New York City in June 2025; the current website identifies its New York City office as headquarters.

The company completed its InTouch Health acquisition on July 1, 2020, adding hospital and health-system telehealth technology, and its Livongo merger on October 30, 2020, expanding its chronic-condition-management business. The 2025 annual filing records acquisitions of Catapult Health in February, Uplift Health Technologies in April, and Australia’s Telecare in August of that year. These are selected transactions, not a complete acquisition list.

Charles Divita III is chief executive. The August 31, 2026 Form 8-K records Michael Grasher’s appointment as chief financial officer effective that day, ending Divita’s interim principal-financial-officer duties. Teladoc trades on the New York Stock Exchange as TDOC; this profile does not identify a single controlling shareholder.

Services and clinical model

The consumer service combines live visits and asynchronous review:

  • 24/7 Care offers on-demand phone or video visits for non-emergency concerns, including pediatric visits. The company describes a network of doctors and nurse practitioners; prescribing depends on the clinician’s assessment, and a visit does not guarantee a prescription.
  • Primary Care, formerly called Primary360 or P360, is an ongoing phone/video service for eligible adults, supported by a care team and messaging. Its page describes lab orders, referrals and coordination with in-person facilities; an ordered test is not itself a virtual visit.
  • Mental Health offers therapy and psychiatry, including medication-management appointments. It is a Teladoc service, not interchangeable with BetterHelp’s offerings or fees.
  • Specialty services include dermatology review of uploaded photos and medical information, plus expert-opinion and care-navigation services where included in a benefit. The billing FAQ also lists nutrition and condition-management programs, including weight, diabetes and hypertension programs.

The annual filing identifies Teladoc Health Medical Group, P.A. and Uplift Behavioral Health, P.C. as affiliated physician-owned entities. Teladoc provides management services and consolidates their results as variable-interest entities, but says it does not own the professional groups. Accounting consolidation is therefore not the same as legal ownership of every medical practice. This description is not an assessment of clinical independence, licensing or compliance.

On July 23, 2026, the company announced Teladoc One, a connected-care model combining multidisciplinary teams, coordination with local providers and AI support. We report the product announcement, not the company’s claims about improved outcomes or lower total costs.

Availability

The 24/7 Care page states availability in all 50 states and selected U.S. territories, with pediatric access subject to the applicable requirements. Primary Care’s page sets an age threshold of 18 and requires access through an eligible employer or health-plan benefit. The account’s available services and provider options, rather than the parent’s geographic footprint, determine an individual’s access. Inside Telehealth did not test registration or booking in any jurisdiction.

The company’s July 2026 results announcement described an accelerated nationwide insurance rollout at BetterHelp. That statement does not establish participation in every insurance plan or access to every service in each state. BetterHelp’s checkout, provider network and coverage need separate confirmation.

Pricing and insurance

The billing FAQ, checked September 7, 2026, separates these U.S. self-pay prices:

Service Advertised self-pay charge Scope
24/7 Care $89 per visit Selected non-emergency virtual visits
Dermatology $89 per review Photo/information review
Nutrition $89 per visit A nutrition appointment
Mental Health From $119 per visit Starting price, not one fixed fee for every therapy/psychiatry appointment

The self-pay landing page shows $119 for Mental Health while the billing FAQ adds a plus sign. This profile uses the qualified starting price. Neither table is a BetterHelp price schedule. Medication, laboratory, imaging and outside-provider expenses should not be assumed included in a visit charge; the site does not publish a universal all-in total for them.

The billing FAQ excludes Primary Care, Condition Management and coaching, Expert Medical Opinion, Sexual Health and Tobacco Cessation from self-pay enrollment. Some covered visits may cost $0, but the member’s actual benefit determines the charge. The FAQ says Teladoc accepts many Medicare Advantage and Medicaid managed-care plans, not Medicare or Medicaid fee-for-service. A plan brand alone does not confirm coverage for a particular service. Available services and fees are shown in the member account before confirmation.

A missed appointment or cancellation within 24 hours may carry a fee of up to $50 under the billing FAQ. The cancellation policy waives the first late cancellation or no-show and exempts people with Medicare, Medicaid or Federal Employee Health Plan coverage, or who live outside the United States; a provider’s cancellation does not incur a patient fee.

Under the Terms of Service, cancellation before service within the applicable window may qualify for a refund; once service starts or that window expires, payment is owed. Not receiving a requested diagnosis or prescription is not by itself grounds for a refund. These are the company’s terms, not a guarantee about any disputed charge.

The FTC’s July 14, 2023 announcement records final approval of an order resolving allegations that BetterHelp shared sensitive consumer information for advertising despite privacy promises. The order required $7.8 million for partial consumer refunds and prohibited sharing health data for advertising, alongside other privacy obligations. It concerns BetterHelp, not a newly issued 2026 penalty against every Teladoc service.

The second-quarter 2026 Form 10-Q reports related BetterHelp privacy class actions in California and Canada. It also says the Second Circuit affirmed dismissal of the consolidated Teladoc securities case on July 27, 2026, superseding older accounts describing that appeal as pending. These are dated company disclosures of proceedings; this profile does not independently reconstruct every court docket or assert that the group has no other disputes.

Teladoc publishes a separate Notice of Privacy Practices, effective February 18, 2026. The presence of a privacy notice is not independent evidence that data practices comply with every applicable requirement.

Scale and operating context

For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, Teladoc reported $606.9 million in revenue and a $38.9 million net loss. Integrated Care contributed $394.3 million in revenue and BetterHelp $212.6 million.

The same release reported 100.3 million U.S. Integrated Care members at quarter-end, defined as people with access under paid-access or visit-based arrangements, not people who all received treatment. BetterHelp’s 346,000 paying users were a global monthly average for the quarter, including self-pay and insurance users, not an end-of-quarter count. These metrics describe different populations and cannot be added into one patient total. All figures are company-reported.

Evidence and limitations

This is a nonclinical company profile based on current consumer pages, SEC filings, dated company announcements and an FTC action. Prices are advertised rather than tested in checkout; services and benefits can differ by plan, location and brand. We have not verified clinician licenses, evaluated clinical outcomes, audited company finances or established the current ownership of every affiliate. The profile makes no treatment recommendation and is not an exhaustive corporate, litigation or international-service history. No observation-date Internet Archive capture was recorded for the cited pages.

Availability claims

One row per jurisdiction and reported status. Scopes that share a status, attribution, source and observation date are listed together in a single row; a scope the company reports differently keeps its own row. "Company / platform" means the company as a whole, not every service. "Company-reported" means the company said it; it has not been independently checked unless the attribution says so. Plan-scoped evidence: access through the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Federal Employee Program (FEP) Service Benefit Plan for its eligible members, not Teladoc's general or self-pay dermatology service. The plan's telehealth page describes its Teladoc Health benefit and states "All current Service Benefit Plan members are eligible for telehealth services." The statement is the plan's, made about a benefit for its current members; it is not Teladoc's own statement about where it sells dermatology to the public, and Teladoc's dermatology page publishes no state list. It does not extend to other insurers, employer plans or self-pay users, and it carries no price: the plan page says it covers telehealth visits from Teladoc Health at no out-of-pocket cost to members, and Teladoc's separately published self-pay figures are not this benefit's price. It does not establish that a reader is a current Service Benefit Plan member, individual eligibility, that a case will be accepted for photo review, or that any prescription will be issued.

The condition-management page for the diabetes prevention, diabetes management and hypertension programmes states that to enrol you must have the relevant diagnosis and be eligible through your employer or health plan. It makes no statement about states or nationwide availability, and no state list for these programmes is published there, on the self-pay page, which states that primary care and condition-management programmes are not available for self-pay, or in the service FAQ, which says visits are available in the United States and Canada with a provider licensed in your state and that services vary by health plan or employer. The company's 50-state statement for its separate 24/7 care service is scoped to that service and is not carried over here. Whether these programmes reach a given state therefore depends on a benefit, and the pages do not say where they are offered.
